OSI Intern Raqhelle Millbrooks Leaps to New Heights in South America

Raqhelle Millbrooks is originally from Grand Rapids, MI and is currently a Senior pursuing a double major of International Business and Spanish at the University of Memphis. She is the President of the International Business Student Organization at the Fogelman College of Business and Economics, University of Memphis where she continues to develop her leadership, and both her personal and professional development. She also dedicates her time weekly to being a Su Casa Ministries volunteer where she leads playtime, snack time, and bible study in Spanish for Hispanic children, while their parents take English classes.

For the Spring 2018 semester, Raqhelle has served as the Copywriter Intern for
One Step Initiative. She has been able to find creative and engaging content for OSI’s supporters and followers in order to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of obtaining an education beyond borders. Raqhelle has a passion for understanding the economic forces that shape the global marketplace and creating cross cultural connections. Her world travel experiences include Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, South Africa, London, and Italy.

This summer, she will embark on an internship abroad with Hilton, and will be placed in either Cartagenas, Colombia or Costa Rica. She looks forward to expanding her Spanish language, and learning the diversity of operations in Hilton’s corporation abroad in order to funnel her career goals as an International Analyst. For 6 weeks, Raqhelle will be immersed in a new culture, and apply her communication, creativity, drive and initiative that OSI has graciously welcomed and appreciated this past semester.
