ONE STEP INITIATIVE

One Step Initiative (OSI) delivers global education opportunities to the nation’s most underserved high school students. Our vision is to be the number one study abroad provider in inner city high school education- granting students the experience of interacting and learning in an international environment through quality study abroad and service programs regardless of their socioeconomic status. Our goal is to equip youth with the tools and skills needed to succeed in a global economy.

OUR MISSION
Education beyond borders.
OUR VISION
OSI brings transformational learning activities to under-privileged youth that would have never been afforded the possibility otherwise.

OSI BY THE NUMBERS

# Of Students Introduced To Study Abroad = over 300 students
# Of World Travelers = 42
# Of Tri-State Schools Served = 20
# Of Miles Traveled = 692,416 miles

OUR YOUTH GLOBAL AMBASSADORS
OSI’s Youth Global Ambassadors develop a new understanding of they can better serve their own communities. Upon return they will work to facilitate service learning projects and help five of their peers in expanding global awareness. In turn they will create a never-ending chain of support for everyone to get the help they need.

OUR METHODOLOGY

One Step Initiative frames learning experiences within the context of cultural exchange and language learning activities. For each activity, or segment of a trip, our leaders integrate an orientation, discussion, and a debriefing.

OUR GOALS

We believe that experience-based learning is a powerful way to connect people and ideas. At the heart of every OSI trip are well thought-out interactive activities which cultivate reflection and experiential learning. Our goal is to equip youth with the skills and tools needed to succeed in an interdependent world.

One Step Initiative Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
